Wignac
In few words, Wignac is an award-winning, family owned, organic cider from the Ardennes in France.
We created Wingac in 2016 with the idea to rejuvenate the image of ciders using 100% pure juice. Wignac Certified Organic, all-natural, low or no ABV (4.5% or 0.00%), gluten free and sulphate free with no added sugar as we use a mix of cider apples and sweet apples.
Once a land full of apple orchards and other fruits, the Ardennes region today is woodland and agricultural fields. Since the Second World War it has suffered from rural exodus. Our aim with Wignac is to revive the orchards and bring back the cider tradition in the region. Wignac’s origins are at the heart of all decisions and future engagements aimed at protecting and promoting the territory’s biodiversity.
Since its creation, Wignac wanted to have organic certification to show that it had a real positive environmental impact. For three years, Wignac worked hard, and finally, in Spring 2020, all of our ciders were certified organic.
The desire to revive the orchards of Guignicourt’s Castle was one of the most important aspects for the siblings. So the planting started in 2019. Orchards are cultivated on the basis of an extensive organic crop, that is to say an agro-ecological crop which allows the association of orchards and animals to create a healthy ecosystem.
