BlakStoc
The brewmaster Karl fermented his first cider as a young schoolboy, many years before he was of legal age to taste it. Since then, he has never stopped experimenting with all sorts of fruits and flavours. This passion for natural ingredients and the wonders of fermentation is shared by Blak Stoc's team and is reflected in their range of innovative ciders.
The main ingredient of their ciders are wild orchard apples from the Styrian hills. This form of cultivation has been part of the landscape for centuries, hence many of the apples they use are specimens of ancient regional varieties.
They are the first cider makers in Europe to specialise in dry-hopping their blends. They use several different hops varieties to compliment those flavours and for the crisp, bitter finish their fans have come to love.
Blakstoc means ‚old tree‘ in Medieval German and stands for their belief that naturally grown trees and wild orchards not only produce the better apples, but is also the most eco-friendly way of growing apples that exists.
